![]() ![]() The game now is just people looking for the top decks, and trying to prove which one of those is best. Now its once a new deck does fairly well, everyone wnats to try and get it and sometimes the only differnce between decks can be a diff tech choice or 2 Like most dino rabbit or dark worlds might have a diff trap card or 2, or a slighty diff extra deckĪnd back in the day, moves were simple The only ways to really swarm the field in one turn was multiple call of the haunted and a reborn, now stuff like a full wind up field, u have to watch carefully and checks effs, (just need to summon one wind up, the out comes all the sharks, plus searching with/for magician and factory, tben the tons of xyz and more specials/searching) i used to be able to look away, and turn and ask how did you get those monsters on the field, and the answer was "i reborned dark magician, and tributed my def mon for summoned skull" The meta has taken away the personality of peoples own decks. Got trap hole, ark hole, reborn, man eater bug, penguin soldier, some 1800+ defenders, 1700+attackers, a few high lvl attack pushers, axe of despair, shadow spell, etc and so on I personally always used a monster (and spell/trap) mash deck. Or if people would try dinosaurs, they might use ONLY jurrac monsters, with a few random other dinos thrown in for attack/effects Say glads would only have glad related cards and a few staples (dark hole, reborn, etc) Where if you coud keep your blue eyes on the field (after tributing 2 monsters) for a few or more turns and keep attacking, you would win.Īlso, when the game advanced, the decks were pure. and it was more based on attacking and defending. People literally threw random spells, traps, and monsters together and tried to win with that. There werent tons of diff archetypes/top decks. I still personally prefer the way the game was back when first started. The meta decks now focus too much on drawing, searching, plusing, and pushes, and some swarming The meta decks now are everywhere in tournaments, and take away the original originality of a players deck Its not that the decks are bad, just takes the fun away from the more casual players.
